LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM
Michael Fritz introduced Charles Campbell,
Assistant Attorney General with the Constitutional Defense in
the Chief Justice Moore Case. He talked about the "10
Commandment Monument Case."
Charles said he was a third generation Kiwanian, following
his grandfather and father. He is a member of the
Capitol City Club.

website.]
He pointed out that our law is based on the Common Law
(Britain) and is the best of Common Law. It was pointed
out that there are four inscriptions on the sides of the 10
Commandments monument. There are other historical
references such as "In God We Trust," phrases from the
Declaration of Independence, etc. It was also pointed
out that several states have such monuments in their
government buildings. Various have gone to court and the
decision concerning their monuments have been in the
affirmative. These cases give support to Chief Justice
Moore's case. Commenting on the Chief Justice's case,
Charles said he has a photographic memory and is surprising in
his recall of the law. It was mentioned that the artist
who made the monument is from Huntsville.
To support the case, there is a statue of Moses in the
Supreme Court Building in Washington, D.C. It is
inscribed with references to the sayings of Moses and the
Constitution. It has not been challenged.

The challenge to the constitutionality of the monument in
the State Supreme Court Buildings will be answered by a
decision of the Federal Supreme Court November 18th of this
year.
